For today’s #MondayMotivation blog post I wanted to talk about the best way to start your days.
OK, so some of us are morning people and some of us aren’t. However, there’s a few things that could help you start the day off on the right foot.
Most of us probably hit the snooze button a few times, then roll out of bed into the kitchen for a large coffee while we watch the latest news and gossip.
Why not try to do some of the below tips try to get your day started the right way! Let’s tackle the day head on and in the best mood possible. Hopefully then you’ll have more energy and positivity… you never know you might even spread your good mood on to others.
Try some of these:
Prepare the night before – start your morning off right by preparing the night before. Help to reduce the stress of the morning by getting things ready, such as, your gym kit packed, prepare your lunch and even perhaps get your bag and keys ready to go.
Drink a glass of water – You may not realise, but your body may well be dehydrated when you first wake up, don’t forget that you probably haven’t had any water for maybe 8 hours. Before your grab a coffee, or if you can, replace your coffee with a big glass of water. Try lemon water for a great detox!
Positive message – Write yourself a little note and put it on your bedside table or perhaps on your mirror to remind yourself to be positive and happy.
This can help to provide a frame for the day ahead, here’s a couple as an example:
“Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it.”
“We tend to forget that happiness doesn’t come as a result of getting something we don’t have, but rather of recognizing and appreciating what we do have.” – Frederick Keonig
Don’t just have a quick stretch – Get up a little earlier and give your whole body a great stretch! Yoga is a great idea or some more general stretching. This will help to stimulate blood flow and relieve some of the overnight stiffness. It’ll also feel great too!
And… BREATH – Invigorate your whole body and mind with deep diaphragmatic breathing, it’s also a little like meditation so great for the body and soul! Sit quietly with your eye’s closed, inhale nice and slowly through your nose until your lungs are full, then hold your breath for 5-10 seconds. Then slowly exhale from your mouth, ensuring that you expel all of the breath. Repeat this cycle 10 times. Whilst doing this, picture your goals and how you are going to tackle the day ahead in a positive manner.
Lastly, get your heart rate up by coming along to one of our morning fit camps!
Trust me, it’s a great way to start your day with a fantastic group of like-minded people. We have camps at 6am and 9am. If you want to give us a try then book in with us for an experience week.
Don’t worry, if mornings don’t work for you, we have some evening camps too!
Give these tips a try and let me know how you get on.
You’ll feel happy and pumped for the day ahead!
